On this week’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart took aim at President Donald Trump‘s trade tariffs and his plans to take over Panama and Greenland.

Stewart opened the segment with a compilation of news clips detailing a “new trade war” that could emerge from Trump’s tariffs on the EU, Canada and Mexico.

“The EU? Canada? Do we have any friends? I mean, Mexico, I get. Trump’s been hate-fucking Mexico pretty much since the escalator,” Stewart said, referencing Trump’s famous ride down the Trump Tower escalator before announcing his presidential candidacy in 2015. “But Canada? Ca-nada? We’re picking a fight with our most reliable and pleasant friend? The labradoodle of allies?”

Stewart then took aim at Trump’s threats to “take back the Panama Canal” and “use military force to take Greenland.”

“Denmark, Panama and Canada. We’re America! We used to fight the Nazis. Now we’re scouring the globe for easy marks,” Stewart joked. “What are we, the Jake Paul of nations? No offense. ‘I know China’s out there, but Panama’s a legitimate fight!’”

Stewart then played a video of Trump justifying his tariff by bashing former trade deals with Canada. “I look at some of the deals made, I say, ‘Who the hell made these deals? They’re so bad,’” Trump said in the clip.

Stewart then said to the audience, “Ladies and gentlemen, for your dining and dancing pleasure, come with me into the way back machine, to 2018. I give you the culprit of the terrible deal with Canada.”

A 2018 news clip then played of Trump signing a new trade deal to “replace NAFTA with leaders of Mexico and Canada.” The clip was spliced with another soundbite of Trump calling the move “the best trade deal ever made.”

“Oh! A deal done by Trump’s greatest nemesis: “Trump,” Stewart joked.

Stewart went on to acknowledge that Mexico has “received a 30-day stay on tariffs by promising 10,000 troops to the border.” He also mentioned Trump temporarily paused the Canadian tariffs on Monday after last-minute negotiations with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
