Mother Monster is officially back.

Lady Gaga released a new track, “Abracadabra,” from her upcoming album, Mayhem, during a commercial break during the 2025 Grammys. The “Shallow” singer announced her highly anticipated seventh studio album last week following a slew of teasers, including a website countdown and cross country billboards.

The spellbinding video for “Abracadabra” feels reminiscent of Gaga’s early releases like “Bad Romance” or “Poker Face,” an intentional move on the singer’s part. It was directed by Gaga, Parris Goebel and Bethany Vargas and was described as being meant to show the light and dark sides of the singer in a dance battle.

Mayhem, will mark Gaga’s “return” to her “pop roots,” according to a release. The 14-track album will also feature the previously released singles “Disease” and “Die with a Smile,” the latter of which Gaga and her collaborator Bruno Mars won a Grammy for during the 2025 awards ceremony.

“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” the Grammy- and Oscar-winning performer said in a statement, assuring fans it was not a nostalgic throwback record but instead “reinvents her early sound with a kaleidoscopic approach that draws from her expansive musical library while embracing a fresh and fearless artistic perspective.”

The new album kicks off a big year for Gaga musically. It was announced she’d be receiving the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award during the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March. The A Star is Born actress is also headlining this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, alongside Green Day and Post Malone.

Mayhem is set to be released on March 7. A full tracklist is expected to be announced at a later date.

The Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah, aired live on CBS. See a full list of Grammy winners and all the star-studded red carpet arrivals.
