Selena Gomez, George Lucas and ‘One Tree Hill’ Cast Honored by Anthem Awards (EXCLUSIVE)
Selena Gomez, George Lucas, Gayle King and the cast of “One Tree Hill” are among the winners of the fourth annual Anthem Awards.
The honors are presented by the Webby Awards to recognize social impact work.
Gold Anthem Award winners include Google; Everytown for Gun Safety; George Lucas Educational Foundation; Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez; Gayle King with The Schoolys; Keke Palmer with Google’s ‘Black-owned Friday’; James Lafferty, Robbie Jones, Bryan Greenberg, Paul Johansson, Tyler Hilton, and more with the One Tree Hill Reunion Charity Game; DEPT; World Central Kitchen; Becky G with NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts’ ‘El Tiny’ Takeover; Planned Parenthood Federation of America; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; AARP; Amazon Music; Burton Snowboards; UNICEF USA; Jelly Roll with Power to the Patients; GLAAD; Dak Prescott with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance; Clinton Global Initiative; Gold House; United Nations; and Governors Tim Walz, Wes Moore, Gretchen Whitmer and Tony Evers with the Democratic Governors Association.
“This year’s Anthem Awards winners are a crucial reminder of the many inspiring and courageous leaders around us committed to creating change,” Anthem Awards general manager Patricia McLoughlin said in a statement Tuesday. “Their vital pursuit of a stronger, more equitable, and just tomorrow is incredible, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support and uplift their efforts.”
Special Achievement Awards were presented to Padma Lakshmi, Christy Turlington Burns and Tony’s Chocolonely’s Teun van de Keuken.
The Anthem Awards were launched in 2021 to celebrate and highlight social impact work happening around the globe. The awards were founded by The Webby Awards in partnership with the Ad Council, Born This Way Foundation, Feeding America, GLAAD, Mozilla, NAACP, NRDC, WWF and XQ.
