As of this writing, we’re seeing “get-in” pricing for the Super Bowl at around $4,300 to $4,600 on popular resale sites like Gametime, Vivid Seats, and StubHub. Top tickets, meantime, are going for more than $50,000.

Although that’s certainly a hefty price tag, this year’s Super Bowl tickets are less expensive than last year’s. According to ticketing site TickPick, Super Bowl tickets are about 36% cheaper than they were last year at the same time to see the Chiefs play the 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. TickPick says the average purchased ticket price is currently at $7,365. Last year’s average purchase price at this time was $9,136

Since Super Bowl ticket prices fluctuate up to game day, the big question is when to score the cheapest price on Super Bowl tickets.

According to the popular ticketing platform Gametime, prices typically start to decline gradually two weeks from the Super Bowl. Around 1-2 days before the event, prices go up slightly, before dropping again to their lowest price on the day of the big game. Gametime also says average-priced tickets (not the cheapest ones) see the biggest decline in price in this period, dropping about 30%.
